LIKE HOLDING WATER IN YOUR HAND Drayton Arms Theatre, April 2026
Like Holding Water in Your Hand is a psychological drama about love in the time of crisis, and the question of who holds power, and who abuses it. As wildfires burn outside their block of flats, Maud and Alex live in a state of constant alert, distrust and unease. Under the totalitarian rule of their intrusive landlord Lot, a bitter opportunist who delights in surveillance and control, the two must navigate their relationship under regulation. When Alex’s visa becomes tied to their address and debts begin to mount, Lot gains dangerous leverage over the pair. A modern Orpheus and Eurydice, Maud and Alex are confronted with a tale as old as time: whether it is possible to move forward when one of them keeps looking back. In a world where power breeds paralysis, what is the cost of survival if moving on means destroying each other in the process?
SOBREMESA, Edinburgh Fringe, August 2026
We’ve all been stuck at a dinner with someone who just won’t shut up. Just one more drink. Just one more point. Just one more thing they HAVE to say. It’s Alma’s 30th birthday, and her sister Billie has brought her new boyfriend to dinner. The restaurant is closing, and he won’t stop talking. Politics. Sex. Religion. Money. He calls it casual conversation. The sisters call it something else. A dark comedy about sisterhood, ego, and the cost of being polite, Sobremesa asks: why is it always so hard to just leave the table?
