LIKE HOLDING WATER IN YOUR HAND Drayton Arms Theatre, April 2026

Like Holding Water in Your Hand is a psychological drama about love in the time of crisis, and the question of who holds power, and who abuses it. As wildfires burn outside their block of flats, Maud and Alex live in a state of constant alert, distrust and unease. Under the totalitarian rule of their intrusive landlord Lot, a bitter opportunist who delights in surveillance and control, the two must navigate their relationship under regulation. When Alex’s visa becomes tied to their address and debts begin to mount, Lot gains dangerous leverage over the pair. A modern Orpheus and Eurydice, Maud and Alex are confronted with a tale as old as time: whether it is possible to move forward when one of them keeps looking back. In a world where power breeds paralysis, what is the cost of survival if moving on means destroying each other in the process?

SOBREMESA, Edinburgh Fringe, August 2026

Sobremesa is the tradition of lingering at the table after a meal, prolonging time together long after it has ended. It is Alma’s 30th birthday. The restaurant is closing. Everyone has gone home except Alma, her sister Billie, and Billie’s new boyfriend, who won’t stop talking. As the wine keeps refilling, the night stretches on and all the things they hadn’t meant to say surface. What starts as relaxed begins to curdle when the boyfriend mentions details about their parents’ house he shouldn’t know: repairs, its market value, inheritance tax and what they should do to it. As tensions rise, the sisters circle everything left unsaid, navigating resentment, grief and the quiet absurdity of tolerating his presence at all. A sharp and funny psychological drama, Sobremesa is a love letter to sisterhood and exposes the exhausting absurdity of entertaining mediocre men and their casual misogyny.
